Pig-bath poison

This work follows research into gargoyles and the derogative connotations associated with pigs. Made from clear soap, this bird bath sculpture is a metaphor which relates broadly to the restrictions put in place over the past year- which were introduced to protect peoples lives but in turn damaged livelihoods and mental health. In a similar fashion this sculpture appears to feed and provide for nature but on the flipside also slowly kills the garden. Moreover it makes a mockery of the 'scary' gargoyle stereotype as pigs are universally deemed unthreatening and inferior.

This mini sculpture is just a prototype for a full scale bird bath. As a media test it successfully created a fragmented glass and glaze like appearance.
